Case filed against 47 including Hasina

A case has been filed against 47 people, including ousted Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina, over the killing of youth Md Shahabul Islam alias Shaon in Baipail area in Savar during the recent anti-discrimination student movement.

Mojibul Hossain, a relative of Shaon, filed the complaint over the killing with the court of Dhaka Senior Judicial Magistrate Arifa Chowdhury Himel on Wednesday. 

The court, after recording statement of the complainant, asked the officer in-charge of Ashulia Police Station to accept the matter as first information report (FIR).

The other prominent accused in the case are - Obaidul Quader, Salman F Rahman, Asaduzzaman Khan Kamal, Anisul Huque, Hasan Mahmud, Benzir Ahmed, Chowdhury Abdullah Al Mamun, Talukder Mohammad Towhid Jong Murad, Habibur Rahman, Harun-or-Rashid and Biplob Kumar Sarkar. 

According to the case documents, Shaon was shot dead as he joined the anti-discrimination street protest on July 4.
