Army deployed in 6 districts to rescue flood victims

Army personnel have been deployed in six districts to rescue victims as flood situation deteriorated.
The Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR) Directorate said this in a press release on Thursday (August 23).
Due to the deterioration of the flood situation, the army has been deployed in Mirsarai of Chattogram, Burichong of Comilla, Akhaura of Brakshanbaria, Shaestaganj of Habiganj and Kulaura of Moulvibazar for rescue operations.
Soldiers of Bangladesh Army's 17th Infantry Division, 24th Infantry Division and 33th Infantry Division have been deployed in their responsible areas respectively. And they are relentlessly conducting rescue operations to evacuate the marooned people. Apart from this, five army medical teams have been deployed in Feni, Chattogram, Moulvibazar, and Habiganj for medical assistance.
The Bangladesh Army has so far rescued approximately 6,000 flood-hit people in the flood-affected districts and sent them to various shelters, said the ISPR statement.
