Case against Shakib, Ferdous: Order to submit report by Sept 23

A case has been filed against ace all-rounder and former lawmaker Shakib Al Hasan and actor and former lawmaker Ferdous Ahmed for allegedly ordering the murder of garment worker Rubel in the capital's Adabor area during the recent anti-discrimination student movement.
Victim Rubel's father Rafikul Islam filed the case with the Adabor Police Station against 156 people, including ousted Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina and Obaidul Quader, on Thursday night.
Another 400-500 unnamed people were also accused in the case.
Dhaka Metropolitan Magistrate Torikul accepted the case and ordered to submit the probe report by September 23.
According to the case documents, Rubel was shot in the Adabor Ring Road area on August 5 as he was taking part in an anti-discrimination students' rally. He was rushed to the nearest hospital with gunshot wounds on the chest and abdomen. Rubel succumbed to his injuries on August 7.
