109 Ansar members taken to court

A total of 109 Ansar members, arrested in cases filed over the clash with students in front of the Secretariat, have been taken to the Chief Metropolitan Magistrate (CMM) Court in Dhaka.

They are accused in separate cases filed with Shahbagh, Ramna and Paltan police stations in the capital.

They were being held in the court lockup on Monday (August 26) afternoon, according to court sources.

Mentionable, Ansar members were carrying out their demonstration on Sunday, blocking the Secretariat despite getting assurance from the government for fulfilling the demand for the nationalization of their jobs. At one stage, they locked into a clash with students and public.
