The world`s largest-ever human flag
Staff Correspondent, DHAKA, Dec 17: Bangladesh has broken the world record through making the longest-ever human flag. The Bangladesh Flag made with cloth is expected to include in the Guinness Book Records.
More than 30,000 volunteers gathered at the National Parade Ground in Sher-e-Bangla Nagar to form the world’s largest human flag on Monay noon.
Students from different schools and soilders from the Bangladesh Army walked together to take their position for making the human flag.
The flag was 1,000 meters in length and 600 meters in width. The sewing of the flag started on Martyred Intellectuals Day on December 14 and it will be completed on the International Mother Language Day on February 21.
This longest-ever flag will be displayed on March 2 next year at Cox`s Bazar, the world`s longest sea beach.
It may be mentioned that private mobile phone operator Robi made the ever-biggest Bangladesh Flag, in partnership with Bangladesh Army.
Previously the largest human national flag was created in Pakistan, on October 21, 2012 with 24,200 participants attending the Punjab Youth Festival at the National Hockey Stadium in Lahore.
A Guinness-accredited auditor was present to oversee the attempt. After successful completion of the event all relevant documents and images will be sent to the Guinness World Record committee for validation.
