27 died in flood, 56 lakh people affected: Disaster adviser

At least 27 people have died, about 56,19,375 people have been affected and some 12,07,429 families have been stranded in the devastating flood in 11 districts of the country.

Disaster Management and Relief Adviser Farooq-e-Azam revealed the information while giving the updates on the flood situation in the secretariat on Tuesday (August 27).

He said that 27 people have died in the flood so far. Among the deaths, ten were in Cumilla, one in Feni, five in Chattogram, one in Khagrachhari, five in Noakhali, one in Brahmanbaria, one in Lakshmipur and three were in Cox’s Bazar districts.

As many as 56,19,375 people have been affected in the flood in 541 unions and municipalities under 74 upazilas of 11 districts.

A total of 12,07,429 families have been stranded in the flood.
