Flood death toll rises to 52

The death toll from the ongoing floods in 11 districts across the country has risen to 52.

The Disaster Management and Relief Ministry gave the updates on the flood situation on Thursday (August 29).

Among the deaths, 14 were in Cumilla, 14 in Feni, six in Chattogram, eight in Noakhali, one in Moulvibazar, one in Brahmanbaria, one in Lakshmipur, one in Khagrachhari and three were in Cox’s Bazar districts.

Feni, Cumilla, Chattogram, Khagrachhari, Noakhali, Moulvibazar, Habiganj, Brahmanbaria, Sylhet, Lakshmipur and Cox’s Bazar districts have been affected by the ongoing flood since August 20.

As many as 56 lakh people have been affected by the flood in 68 upazilas of 11 districts.

A total of 1,072,578 families have been stranded in the flood while 502,501 people took refuge at 3,403 shelter centers.
