Bangladesh receives 222cr USD in remittance in Aug

Bangladeshi expatriates sent 222cr USD to the country through the formal channel in the last month. In the same period of August 2023, remittance inflow was 159.94cr USD.

The updated information from Bangladesh Bank revealed the matter on Sunday (September 1).

According to the central bank data, the country received 38.34cr USD through state-owned banks, 7.81cr US dollars through a specialized bank, 175.50cr USD through private banks and 47cr USD through foreign banks.

Compared to July 2024, remittance inflow in August surged 16%. In July, the country's banks received 191.37cr USD in remittances.
