Foreign secy Momen`s contractual appointment cancelled

The Interim Government has cancelled the contractual appointment of foreign secretary Masud Bin Momen.

Foreign Affairs Adviser Md Touhid Hossain confirmed the matter on Sunday (September 1).

Masud Bin Momen took charge as the 26th Foreign Secretary of Bangladesh on December 31, 2019. He went on retirement in November 2022. But, the previous Awami League government appointed him as foreign secretary on contractual basis for two years.

According to sources in the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, the notification of cancellation of Masud Bin Momen's contractual appointment has not yet been issued. However, the process can be completed by Sunday (September 1) night.
