People suffer as heavy downpour drenches Dhaka

Dwellers in the capital are suffering due to a heavy downpour since this morning (September 3), causing waterlogging in several areas.

The rains started around 5:30 am and continued till 8:30am.

The heavy downpour inundates streets in various parts of the capital, with water levels reaching up to knee or even waist height in some areas.

Incessant rain since morning has caused waterlogging in areas including Mohammadpur, Dhanmondi, Mirpur, Shewrapara, Malibagh, West Tejturi Bazar, Bangshal and Tejgaon.

Meanwhile, the city dwellers are suffering due to heavy rains.

Due to the accumulation of water on the road, one has to pay double the fare to reach the destination. Still rickshaws and CNG are not available.
