Doctors withdraw strike, return to work

After withdrawing strike, doctors at Dhaka Medical College Hospital (DMCH) have returned to their work. They have resumed outpatient services.
Abdul Ahad, resident surgeon of DMCH neurosurgery department on Tuesday night (September 3) said that in the face of doctors' demands, the government's 'visible steps' and considering the overall situation of the country, normal operations will continue as before in all the hospitals.
He said, "The hospital administrations ensured the security of the doctors as per our demand. Culprits have been arrested. For this we postponed our strike."
Earlier, the intern doctors stopped their work at Dhaka Medical College Hospital on Saturday night due to three attacks and beatings on them. Meanwhile, other doctors also expressed solidarity in the strike.
