Former-IGPs Abdullah Al-Mamun, Shahidul Hoque, arrested

Two former Inspector General of Police (IGP) AKM Shahidul Haque and Chowdhury Abdullah-Al-Mamun have been arrested by law enforcement agencies.

Dhaka Metropolitan Police Additional Commissioner Rezaul Karim Mallick confirmed the matter on Tuesday night (September 3).

Details will be announced later from DMP, he said.

DMP in a release said that former IGP Shahidul was arrested in sector-16 of Uttara area. On the other hand, Abdullah Al-Mamun was in army custody. The two former police chiefs are defendants in multiple cases, including murder cases.
