PBI to investigate murder case against 24 including Hasina, Quader

A Dhaka court ordered the Police Bureau of Investigation (PBI) to investigate a murder case filed against ousted prime minister Sheikh Hasina, former road transport and bridges minister Obaidul Quader for gunning down a man in the capital’s Rampura during the Anti-Discrimination Student Movement.
The deceased’s wife filed the case before the court of Dhaka Metropolitan Magistrate Afnan Sumi on Wednesday (September 4) morning.
The court recorded the plaintiff’s statement and ordered the PBI to investigate the murder case.
Former Home Minister Asaduzzaman Khan Kamal, Awami League leaders Kamruzzaman Polash, ABM Siddique were among the accused in the case.
According to the case statement, Amir Hossain was shot dead in front of BTV Bhaban in the capital’s Rampura area on July 19, as police fired over the students and people by the directives of the accused.
