CEC, election commissioners resigned

Chief Election Commissioner Kazi Habibul Awal and other election commissioners have resigned from their positions.

CEC made the announcement in a press conference on Thursday (September 5).

Other Election Commissioners-- Begum Rashida Sultana, Ahsan Habib Khan, and former secretaries Md Alamgir and Anisur Rahman-- have also resigned.

After the fall of the Sheikh Hasina government, there were demands for the reformation and resignation of election commissioners. Following the demands, the Election Commission led by Kazi Habibul Awal resigned.
