Dr SMA Faiz appointed UGC chairman

Dr SMA Faiz, former vice chancellor of Dhaka University, has been appointed as chairman of the University Grants Commission (UGC).

The Education Ministry issued a notification in this regard on Thursday (September 5).

According to the rules of the commission, Dr Faiz, also a former professor in the Department of Soil, Water and Environment at Dhaka University, and former chairman of the Bangladesh Public Service Commission, has been appointed for four years and he will be entitled to all facilities including salary, allowances and other benefits.
