2 new deputy governors appointed to Bangladesh Bank

Md Zakir Hossain Chowdhury and Dr. Md Kabir Ahmed have been appointed as new deputy governors of Bangladesh Bank.

A notification was issued in this regard by the finance ministry's Financial Institutions Division on Sunday (September 8).

According to the notification, they have been appointed on a contractual basis for a period of three years from the date of joining. Their appointments will remain effective for three years from the date of joining.

On August 5, after the uprising, Sheikh Hasina fled the country. After the fall of the government, the central bank officials staged an unprecedented agitation forcing the resignation of all contractual officials including the deputy governor.
