Maritime ports asks to hoist local cautionary signal 3

The Maritime port of Chattogram, Cox's Bazar, Mongla and Payra have been advised to hoist local cautionary signal 3 as the monsoon depression over the west central bay and adjoining northwest bay moved slightly north-northwestwards, intensified into a deep depression and now lies over northwest bay and adjoining west central Bay of Bengal.

Bangladesh Metrological Department (BMD) issued a notification in this regard on Sunday (September 3).

Meteorologist Dr Muhammad Abul Kalam Mallic said the depression was 720 kilometers south of Chattogram seaport, 690 kilometers of Cox’s Bazar seaport and 560 kilometers of Mongla port at 6:00 pm.

All fishing boats and trawlers over the North Bay have been advised to remain in shelter till further notice.
