Appointments of 8 DCs cancelled

Out of 59 newly appointed deputy commissioners (DCs), the interim government has cancelled the appointments of eight DCs.

The districts where the DC appointments were cancelled are Lakshmipur, Joypurhat, Kushtia, Rajshahi, Sirajganj, Shariatpur, Dinajpur and Rajbari. 

Ministry of Public Administration Senior Secretary Dr Md Mokhlesur Rahman shared the information with journalists on Wednesday (September 11).

Mokhlesur said, “A selection committee prepared a fit list, and the committee met today. After reviewing the list, the appointments of eight individuals were cancelled.”

Earlier, on Monday and Tuesday, 59 new DCs were appointed across the country. However, some Deputy Secretaries raised concerns about being overlooked, causing an uproar at the Ministry of Public Administration on Tuesday.
