7-day remand sought for ex-Home Minister’s son Jyoti

Police filed an application with a Dhaka court, seeking a seven-day remand for Safi Mudassir Khan Jyoti, son of former Home Minister Asaduzzaman Khan Kamal, in an attempt to murder case filed with Ashulia Police Station.

Sub-inspector (SI) of Ashulia Police Station Abu Taher Mia, also the investigation officer of the case, filed the application on Saturday (September 14).

Hearing on the remand petition will be held in the court of Chief Judicial Magistrate in Dhaka.

Earlier, Safi Mudassir Khan Jyoti was arrested from the capital’s Uttara on Friday (September 13) night.

On September 11, the victim Md Rabiul Sani filed the attempt to murder case with Ashulia Police Station against 30 people, including former Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina and Safi Mudassir Khan Jyoti.
