US delegation to meet Chief Adviser Sunday

A high-level US delegation comprising of five members is scheduled to meet with Prof Muhammad Yunus, chief adviser to the interim government of Bangladesh.

The meeting will be held at 10:55 am on Sunday (September 15) at the State Guest House Jamuna, according to the Chief Adviser’s Press Wing.

Meanwhile, the high-level five-member delegation led by Assistant Secretary for International Finance at the U.S Department of the Treasury Brent Neiman arrived in Dhaka this morning (September 14). US State Department Assistant Secretary for South and Central Asia Donald Lu, also a part of the delegation, will arrive in Dhaka this afternoon after paying a visit to New Delhi.

The US delegation also consist of representatives from the US National Security Council, State Department, Treasury and international donor agencies.

Apart from Chief Adviser Prof Muhammad Yunus, the US delegation will also meet Foreign Affairs Adviser Md Touhid Hossain and Finance Adviser Dr Salehuddin Ahmed during the visit.

“US and Bangladeshi officials will discuss how the United States can support Bangladesh’s economic growth, financial stability, and development needs,” a Spokesperson at the US Department of State said.
