Former railway minister Nurul Islam Sujan arrested

Former Railway Minister Nurul Islam Sujan has been arrested.

He was taken into custody by the police from Room no 833 of Bangladesh Specialized Hospital in the capital’s Shyamoli.

Confirming the matter, Jatrabari police station OC Md Faruk Ahmed said the minister was wanted in a case. Legal steps are being taken in this regard.

Nurul Islam Sujan is an Awami League politician and member of parliament representing the Panchagarh-2 constituency since 2009. He served as the railway minister during 2019-2023. He was a senate member of Dhaka University.
