Dollar won`t cause gas-power crisis: Energy Adviser

Muhammad Fouzul Kabir Khan, the adviser for the Ministry of Power, Energy and Mineral Resources, said that there will be no shortage of gas and electricity in the country due to dollar crisis.

The adviser said this while addressing reporters at secretariate in the capital on Thursday (September 19).

He said that the government has requested $1 billion from the World Bank and $1 billion from ADB as budget support. Efforts will be made to overcome the future crisis by paying the electricity and gas dues.

In reply to a question, he said that if there are allegations of corruption found in Gazprom, S Alam, Summit, the new committee will investigate. The White Paper Committee is also working on this.
