A Dhaka court has granted a five-day remand for former railways minister Nurul Islam Sujan in a case filed with Jatrabari Police Station over the killing of Rafiqul Islam during the Anti-Discrimination Student Movement.
Dhaka Metropolitan Magistrate Saddam Hossain granted the remand order on Sunday (September 22).
The case’s investigating officer Mrigank Shekhar Talukdar sought a 10-day remand for interrogating him.
During this time, the defence argued against the remand and requested bail.
After hearing both sides, the court denied the bail application and issued the remand order.
