Dengue claims 1 more lives; Death toll now 125

Dengue positive cases in Bangladesh reached 23,108 this year as 843 fresh cases were reported overnight and one more patient died during the same period.

The number of fatalities from the mosquito-born disease in the country reached to 125.

A press release of the Directorate General of Health Services (DGHS) revealed the information on Sunday (September 22).

During the period, 843 dengue patients were hospitalized across the country while 388 were admitted to different hospitals in two city corporations in the capital.

Besides, 113 dengue patients were admitted in Dhaka Division, 71 in Barishal, 193 in Chattogram, 48 in Khulna, 9 in Mymensingh, and 21 in Rajshahi.

Last year, 3,21,179 people were admitted to hospital due to dengue. A total of 1,705 people lost their lives due to dengue, making it the deadliest year on record.
