Former IGP Abdullah Al Mamun on 4-day remand

A Dhaka court has placed former Inspectors General of Police (IGP) Chowdhury Abdullah Al Mamun on remand in a murder case filed with Shahbagh police station.
Dhaka Metropolitan Magistrate Saifuzzaman passed the order on Tuesday morning (September 24).
Earlier, the accused was produced before the court around 8:00 am. Meanwhile, the investigation officer of the case sought 10-day remand.
According to the case statement, a youth named Ismamul Haque, 16 was shot dead during anti-quota movement. Later, the victim’s elder brother Mohammad Mahibul Haque filed a murder case mentioning five names on August 25.
