Gold price hits record high of Tk 1.35 lakh per bhori

Jewellers in Bangladesh have raised the price of gold by Tk2,613 to Tk1,35,664 per bhori (22-carat), making a new record for the inflating price of the metal in the market.

In a notification, Bangladesh Jeweler’s Association (BAJUS) said the new rate will come to effect on Wednesday (September 25).

Besides, 21-carat gold was hiked by Tk 2,507 to 1,29,505 a bhori (11.664 grams), 18-carat by Tk 2,135 to Tk 1,10,995, and gold of traditional method by Tk 1,820 to Tk 91,038 respectively, said the statement.

Earlier on Saturday (September 21), the gold price in Bangladesh market increased to Tk 1,33,000 per bhori as the jewelers raised the price by Tk 3,149.
