Hall provost among 15 sued in Tofazzal murder case

A murder case has been filed against 15 people including Muslim Hall provost professor Shah Muhammad Masum of Dhaka University for killing Tofazzal Hossain (35).

Asma Akter, a cousin of the victim filed the murder case with the court of Dhaka Metropolitan Magistrate Aktaruzzaman on Wednesday (September 25).

The other accused in the case are – Jalal Mia, Sumon Mia, Firoz Kabir, Abdus Samad, Mottakin Sakin Shah, Al Hossain Sajjad, Wajibul Alam, Ahsan Ullah, Fazle Rabbi, Yeamus Jaman, Rashed Kamal Anik, Shahriar Kabir Shovon, Mehedi Hasan Imran and Md Sultan. All of them are students of Dhaka University.

On September 18, miscreants held Tofazzal captive at the Fazlul Huq Muslim Hall of DU for several hours and beat him up mercilessly leading to his death. Later, it was known that Tofazzal was mentally unstable.
