Joint force so far recovers 216 firearms, arrests 92

Member of law enforcing agencies in special joint-drives recovered 216 firearms and arrested 92 persons  in 21 days.

A press release of the Police Headquarters said this on Wednesday afternoon.

Recovered firearms include 11 revolvers, 62 pistols, 13 rifles, 28 shotguns, 6 pipe guns, 20 LG, 31 guns, one AK47 rifle, two gas-guns, one Chinese rifle, four air guns, five SMG and two teargas launchers, the release added.

The joint force comprising the members from Armed Forces, Police, Rapid Action Battalion (RAB), Border Guard Bangladesh (BGB), and Ansar conducted the drives to recover illegal firearms and ammunition alongside bringing the drug peddlers to book.
