WB to provide $3.5 billion loan for financial sector

The World Bank (WB) is going to provide $3.5 billion loan to reform Bangladesh’s financial sector.
Bangladesh Chief Adviser Professor Muhammad Yunus joined a meeting with World Bank president Ajay Banga on Wednesday afternoon (September 25). In the meeting, the World Bank promised to provide the loan support.
Earlier, Dr. Yunus left Dhaka for New York to attend the 79th session of the United Nations General Assembly (UNGA).
On the third day of the visit, he joined meeting with World Bank President Ajay Banga and United Nations High Commissioner for Human Rights Volker Turk, Pakistan President Shehbaz Sharif, USAID Administrator Samantha Power, Nepal PM KP Sharma Oli and Ursula von der Leyen.
