HISA runway to be closed for 3.5hrs from 1-14 Oct

The runway of Hazrat Shahjalal International Airport (HISA) will remain shut for 3.5 hours each night for 14 days starting from 1 October due to maintenance work.

Kamrul Islam, Executive Director Hazrat Shahjalal International Airport, confirmed the matter on Sunday (September 29).

Flight operations in the airport will be closed from 1:00 am to 4:30 am everyday till 14 October for ILS Category-II related maintenance work on the runway.

Kamrul Islam said that the airport will be conducting routine runway maintenance, including replacing centerline lights, touchdown zone lights, and stop way lighting systems for runways.

Airport authorities are advising passengers of the airport to inform their respective airlines in advance about their respective flights and esteemed passengers to reconfirm their flight schedules, he added.
