Sultan Mansur put on 5-day remand

A Dhaka court has placed former lawmaker Sultan Mohammad Monsur Ahmed on a five-day remand in a case lodged with Paltan Police Station for allegedly carrying out attacks on a rally of BNP and killing Juba Dal leader Shamim.
Dhaka Metropolitan Magistrate Ragib Nur passed the order as police produced Sultan Monsur before the court and pleaded to place him on 10-day remand in the case.
Detective Branch (DB) of police detained Sultan Monsur, also ex-vice-president of Dhaka University Central Students' Union, from the immigration of Hazrat Shahjalal International Airport on Monday.
Juba Dal leader Shamim was killed on October 28 in 2023.
