Govt to ease visa procedure for foreign tourists 

Home Adviser Lieutenant General (Retd) Jahangir Alam Chowdhury has said that the government will take steps to ease visa procedure for foreign tourists.

The adviser said this at a meeting with a delegation of Europe-Bangladesh Federation of Commerce and Industry on Monday (September 30). 

“We will simplify the visa procedure for foreign tourists as part of a broader strategy to enhance the country's tourism sector”, he said. 

Describing expatriate Bangladeshis as an asset for the country, he said, "They have a great role in making overall development of Bangladesh." 

He told the Bangladeshi expatriates that the country belongs to all, saying, "The country is belongs to you all and mine also. We have to build the country together."

The adviser has sought cooperation from the Bangladeshi expatriates to bring back the siphoned off money into the country. 

He also called for cooperation from the expatriate Bangladeshis to help mechanize the agriculture of Bangladesh and investment in the country's agriculture sector.
