After 57 days bullet-hit Karimul dies 

Karimul Islam, 22, who was injured in police firing during the anti-discrimination student movement in the capital’s Jatrabari area on August 5, died early Monday.

The youth passed away from his injuries while being treated at the burn unit of Dhaka Medical College Hospital (DMCH).

Md Faruk, inspector of the DMCH police outpost, confirmed the matter.

“The body has been sent to DMCH morgue for autopsy,” he added.

Karimul was one of the victims who were seen in a video being shot by a group of policemen near Jatrabari Police Station. The video of the shooting went viral on social media.
