HSIA area ‘silent zone’ from today

1.5km radius around Hazrat Shahjalal International Airport will be considered as “Silent Zone from today (October 1).
Dhaka North City Corporation (DNCC) made the announcement on September 29.
DNCC's Public Relations Officer Moqbul Hossain said the 1.5-kilometre area stretching from Scholastica School to Hotel Le Méridien (north to south) will be a "silent zone".
This decision aligns with Rule 4 of the Noise Pollution Control Rules, 2006, and aims to reduce noise levels in the vicinity of the airport.
