BFIU seeks bank account details of 7 including Shakib 

The Bangladesh Financial Intelligence Unit (BFIU) has sought the bank account details of seven people including cricketer and former MP Shakib Al Hasan and his wife, Umme Ahmed Shishir, as part of a larger investigation into financial irregularities.

Other people are Umme Roman Ahmed, Abul Kalam Matbor, Mohammad Bashar, Konika Afroz, Kazi Sadia and Md Nazmul Bashar Khan.

The BFIU issued letters to various banks and non-bank financial institutions, requesting details of all accounts held by them. 

These include savings, current, fixed deposit receipt (FDR), and deposit plus scheme accounts. Financial institutions were asked to provide the information within the next five business days. Additionally, any accounts linked to businesses or companies owned by the couple are also under scrutiny, sources said on Wednesday.
