RAB arrests ex-MP Abul Kalam Azad

Rapid Action Battalion (RAB) has arrested former lawmaker of Rajshahi-4 constituency Abul Kalam Azad on charge of attacking protestors during the anti-discrimination movement.

Abul Kalam Azad was arrested from the city's Mirpur area on Wednesday night.

RAB legal and media wing director Lt Col Munim Ferdous confirmed the matter.

He was wanted in a number of cases filed in connection with July-August mass uprising.

Azad will be handed over to police soon, Ferdous said.
