Hasina’s ex-principal secretary put on 7-day remand

A court in Dhaka placed former prime minister Sheikh Hasina's former principal secretary Abul Kalam Azad and Dhaka Metropolitan Awami League Treasurer Humayun Kabir on a seven-day remand in connection with the murder of Jubo Dal leader Shamim.
Dhaka Additional Chief Metropolitan Magistrate Ziadur Rahman passed the remand order on Sunday (October 6).
Earlier, Sub-Inspector (SI) Tanmay Kumar Biswas of Paltan police station, the investigating officer in the case, produced the accused before the court seeking 10-day remand for both accused.
Paltan Model police station general registrar wing Sub-Inspector Alamgir Hossain confirmed the matter.
