Saber Hossain Chowdhury put on 5-day remand

A Dhaka court placed former environment minister Saber Hossain Chowdhury on a five-day remand in a case filed over killing a BNP activist named Mokbul.
Dhaka Additional Chief Metropolitan Magistrate Mahbubul Haque passed the order on Monday (October 7).
Earlier, Investigation Officer (IO) Nazmul Hasan, also sub-inspector of Paltan Model Police Station, produced him with a 10-day remand prayer.
Saber Hossain was later shown arrested in a murder case filed with the Paltan Police Station over the killing of BNP activist Maqbul, who died in 2022 after sustaining a bullet injury in the BNP party office.
