Palak, Dipu Moni, Inu, Menon, Salman remanded again

A Dhaka court has granted seven-day remand to former ministers Rashed Khan Menon, Hasanul Haque Inu, Dipu Moni and Zunaid Ahmed Palak in a case filed over the killing of a youth named Emon Hossain Gazi on Chittagong Road in Jatrabari area during the Anti-Discrimination Student Movement.

Salman F Rahman and Zunaid Ahmed Palak have been granted five-day remand in another case filed with Jatrabari police station in connection with the death of another man named Mahmudul Hasan Joy.

The court also placed Dipu Moni and Zunaid Ahmed Palak on another seven-day remand in the case filed over the killing of Sakib Hasan in Jatrabari. The court granted the four-day remand for former deputy commissioner of Detective Branch Mashiur Rahman in another case filed with Jatrabari police station over the death of Rafikul Islam. The court placed Zunaid Ahmed Palak for another five-day remand in a case filed with New Market Police Station over an alleged attempt to murder one Mazedul Islam.

Dhaka Metropolitan Magistrate Shahin Reza passed the order after hearing separate remand petitions in the case on Tuesday (October 8).
