Court summons Tapasi Tabassum Urmi in defamation case

A court in Dhaka summoned suspended assistant commissioner Tapasi Tabassum Urmi, in a defamation case asking her to appear before it on November 28.
Dhaka Metropolitan Magistrate Zakir Hossain passed the order on Tuesday (October 8).
Abu Hanif, publicity secretary of Gana Adhikar Parishad, submitted the petition with the court against the suspended assistant commissioner.
The plaintiff's lawyer Khademul Islam confirmed the matter.
According to the case statement, the accused, despite being a government official, made a derogatory opinion about Chief Adviser Professor Muhammad Yunus and martyrs of the anti-discrimination movement, on her Facebook account.
