Govt permits import of 4.5 crore eggs

The government has granted approval for the import of 4.5 crore pieces of eggs to keep the market supply uninterrupted.

The commerce ministry issued a notification in this regard on Tuesday (October 8).

Bangladesh has a daily demand of 4.50 crore of eggs, according to the department of livestock services.

Considering the existing market situation and to keep the market price stable, the government is temporarily permitting the import of eggs, said the notice.
