Dengue claims 9 lives

Bangladesh recorded nine deaths from dengue in the past 24 hours till Saturday morning, marking the highest number of fatalities from the viral infection in a single day so far this year.
A report of the Directorate General of Health Services (DGHS) said this on Saturday.
With the fresh deaths, the toll rose to 210 since 1 January.
Besides, in a 24-hour span, 915 more patients were hospitalised with the viral fever, taking the number of victims to 41,810.
Of the deaths, five were reported from the Dhaka South City Corporation (DSCC), two from Barishal division, and one each from the Dhaka North City Corporation (DNCC) and Chattogram division.
