Bank accounts of Menon, Momtaz frozen 

The Bangladesh Financial Intelligence Unit (BFIU) has ordered banks to freeze the accounts of Bangladesh Workers Party President and former member of parliament (MP) Rashed Khan Menon and singer and former Awami League MP Momtaz Begum.

Additionally, the accounts of the family members and associates of both Menon and Momtaz have also been frozen.

Issuing the directive under Section 23(1)(c) of the Money Laundering Prevention Act, BFIU has also ordered banks to cancel the use of any locker facility under the names of Menon and Momtaz.
