Former Agriculture Minister Razzaque on two-day remand

A Dhaka court has placed former Agriculture Minister and Awami League (AL) presidium member Abdur Razzaque on a two-day remand in a case lodged over the killing of trader Abdul Wadud in the capital’s Nilkhet area.
Dhaka Additional Chief Metropolitan Magistrate Mahbubul Haque passed the order on Tuesday.
Earlier, police produced Razzaque before the court and pleaded to place him on seven-day remand in the case.
Abdur Razzaque was arrested from the capital's Eskaton area around 7.30pm on October 14.
Abdul Wadud was killed in front of New Market 1st gate on July 19. His brother-in-law Abdur Rahman filed the case on August 21 against 130 people, including ousted Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina, Obaidul Quader, Anisul Huq, Asaduzzaman Khan Kamal and Salman F Rahman.
