Former DNCC mayor Atiqul arrested

Former mayor of Dhaka North City Corporation (DNCC) Atiqul Islam has been arrested from Mohakhali DOHS area.

Dhaka Metropolitan Police (DMP) media and public relations department confirmed the matter on Wednesday (October 16).

Earlier on August 18, Atiqul Islam went to the headquarters of DNCC. Meanwhile, people chassed him and he managed to flee from the building from backdoor.

Later, the interim government removed mayors of 12 city corporations on August 19.
