Eggs to be sold at govt set rate from Thursday

Eggs will be sold at government-set prices from Thursday (October 17) to tackle the ongoing instability in the kitchen market.
The large corporate organizations will provide 20 lakh eggs per day in the two chief wholesale markets -Tejgaon and Kaptan Bazar in the capital.
In a press release, Bangladesh Poultry Industries Central Council (BPIC) confirmed the matter on Wednesday (October 16).
It is expected that supplying 2 million eggs daily will help stabilize prices, said the statement.
The Director General of the Directorate of the National Consumer Rights Protection (DNCRP), Mohammad Alim Akhtar Khan will inaugurate the program at Kaptaan Bazar around 4:00am.
