July-August mass killings: ICT begins trial officially

The International Crimes Tribunal (ICT) has officially commenced the trial for the mass killings that took place during the Anti-Discrimination Student Movement in July and August.

The proceedings began at 11:30am on Thursday (October 17) under the leadership of ICT Chairman Justice Md Golam Mortuza.

Other members of the tribunal are Justice Md Shafiul Alam Mahmud and retired District and Sessions Judge Mohitul Haque Enam Chowdhury.

According to sources, on the first day, the prosecution team will request arrest warrants for 50 individuals, including Sheikh Hasina.
