Travel ban issued on ex-army chief Aziz

A Dhaka court has issued international travel bans on former army chief General Aziz Ahmed and his wife Dilshad Nahar Kakoli in connection with graft charges.

Dhaka Metropolitan Senior Special Judge Mohammed As Shams Joglul Hossain passed the order on Thursday (October 17).

ACC Assistant Director (prosecution overall) Aminul Islam confirmed the matter.

Earlier, ACC deputy director Md Jakaria submitted a petition seeking the bans, said ACC public prosecutor Mahmud Hossain Jahangir.

According to the case statement, there are allegations that the former army chief and his family members amassed huge quantity of movable and immovable assets at home and abroad though corruption.
