Shamsher Mobin Chowdhury detained

Trinamool BNP Chairperson Shamsher Mobin Chowdhury has been detained.

A team of DB police arrested him from his residence in the capital’s Banani area on Thursday afternoon.

It was reported that he was prevented from traveling abroad on Wednesday afternoon and was sent back from Hazrat Shahjalal International Airport.

Regarding this, Shamsher Mobin told the media that he intended to go to Thailand for his wife's medical treatment.

He was formerly the Vice Chairman of the BNP. He resigned from all BNP positions in 2015 and joined Bikalpadhara Bangladesh in 2018, led by former President AQM Badruddoza Chowdhury.

On January 7 of this year, he became the Chairperson of the Trinamool BNP, founded by the late Nazmul Huda, in September 2023.
