53 Bangladeshis to return home from Lebanon Oct 20

The government took initiatives to repatriate documented Bangladeshi nationals from Lebanon. As part of the steps, in the first phase, 53 expatriates are scheduled to return home on October 20.

Already 1,800 Bangladeshis have registered at the embassy expressing their interest to return home.

Foreign ministry sources said that among those willing to return, 167 have legal documents, the remaining 1,623 are undocumented. In the first phase, the IOM said 200 people would be brought back on chartered flights. 53 people are expected to arrive in Dhaka on the first flight on October 20 and 58 people on the second flight on October 22.
